The California Department of Justice joins forces with Stop Our Shootings, Inc. with a real 911 call:
"I just shot my best friend - she's bleeding half to death" to bring home what really happens when
parents don't keep their guns locked in gun safes.
ANAHEIM, CA - Anti-gunners and pro-gunners unite! This is the message soon to be released at the Grand
Californian Hotel in Disneyland, California, with the real 911 call of a 13-year-old girl who just shot
her best friend through the head. 12-year-old Shanelle, who survived, staggered through the house

from room to room yelling "What did you do to me?" while the 911 caller screamed "You're not going to die on me!"
This powerful message, along with a new effort by the California Department of Justice requiring tested
and approved gunlocks and safes, will be showcased on television and radio stations in English and Spanish,
launching at a National Press Release Conference Luncheon on July 18th, 2003. Helping launch this event
will be Attorney General Bill Lockyer, Gary Aldrich, The Patrick Henry Center, The Southern California
